The Rotating Platform Knee is based on a revolutionary technology, the mobile-bearing knee, pioneered 30 years ago by DePuy Orthopaedics. When you bend your knee, the surfaces of your joint roll and glide against each other, allowing your knee to rotate as it bends. Unlike traditional, fixed-bearing knee implants, rotating platform knee implants are designed to mimic this natural movement. This rotation reduces the stress and wear on the implant.1 More than one million Rotating Platform Knees have been sold worldwide.2 And studies show that even after 20 years, more than 97% of these implants are still in use.3 |
